Reconciliation Action Plan

ASQA Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2023-2025

Our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2023-2025 (RAP) was released in April 2023. The RAP provides a structured, nationally recognised model that formalises our commitment to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. The RAP outlines our vision for reconciliation, enables our organisation to make valuable contributions to reconciliation in Australia, and to foster a workforce that better reflects the diversity of the Australian community.

The unique artwork in our RAP was designed by De Greer-Yindimincarlie, a Wiradjuri woman from central western New South Wales and the owner of Yindi Artz - Authentic Aboriginal Creations.

Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2023-26

ASQA recognises that harnessing employees’ skills and experiences increases innovation and our overall service to stakeholders and the public. ASQA values the diverse experiences and contributions our employees bring to our workplace. Acknowledging and celebrating your diverse abilities and backgrounds helps to create an inclusive and productive environment.

ASQA’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2023-26 acknowledges the value of all employees and highlights how our differences can improve our culture. The strategy also identifies our key priorities and the actions ASQA will take to embed a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Our senior managers drive our commitment to diversity and inclusion and from this group we have appointed our first Diversity Champion. The Diversity Champion is responsible for promoting the development of diversity and inclusion initiatives and strategies, and supports an inclusive work culture as the chair of the Diversity Working Group.

The Diversity Working Group empowers employees from across ASQA to drive diversity and inclusion initiatives and to support the delivery of actions identified in the Strategy.

Diversity Council Australia membership

To demonstrate our organisation’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace, ASQA are members of the Diversity Council Australia, Australia’s only independent, not-for-profit peak body for workplace diversity and inclusion.

Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) certification

ASQA is committed to gender equality and has received certification from WGEA confirming our compliance with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 (Act) for the 2022-23 reporting period.
