Online Learning

E-learning is the broad term for all online learning methods.

It includes:

• where the student learns online, such as on site or remotely
• how the student learns online, such as digital devices and the internet. 

Students learn in an online environment using digital tools to interact. This may include face-to-face workplace assessment, which can be a requirement of the training package.

Blended learning can be:

• Students learning through a mix of online and face-to-face. For example, off-the-job training conducted online with a block of on-the-job training.
• Students engaging with the trainer and other students in a class through a mix of online and face-to-face. For example, remote and in-person students taking part at the same time using technology like video conferencing.

Students and trainers connect at the same time but in different locations.

Students can often choose when, where, and how to connect. Course materials are available online, allowing students to self-pace.

Distance learning refers to the geographical location of the student. The student is remote to the trainer. It can include online and traditional learning methods.
