Guidance for Providers provide guidance and clarification on complying with the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework—and other conditions defined in the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011.

ASQA has issued Guidance for Providers on assessing Early Childhood Education and Care students in the workplace, quality indicators, lapse of registration and resourcing requirements - for applicants seeking initial registration or change of scope of registration.

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in the Australian education and training system. It incorporates the quality assured qualifications from each education and training sector into a single comprehensive national qualifications framework.

On the AQF website you can download the the framework and find information about AQF news and events, and AQF projects.

These bodies are national associations representing various groups within the Australian VET sector. These groups include independent providers of post-compulsory education and training; business enterprises operating RTOs; and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutes across Australia.

Peak bodies can help RTOs improve their business performance and maintain compliance through a range of measures including publishing research, professional development activities, and consultation with industry experts.

A Jobs and Skills Council (JSC) is a not-for-profit company that is industry-owned and industry-led. They are part of a national network of 10 JSCs that provide leadership to address skills and workforce challenges for their industry. They:

An RTO consultant can be a good place to start if you are seeking assistance or expertise to guide you through the registration or re-registration process. If you are new to the VET sector or feel you would benefit from independent advice, a consultant may be able to assist you. National Centre for Vocational Education Research

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing, evaluating and communicating research and statistics about VET nationally.

Trades Recognition Australia

Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) provides skills assessments for people with trade skills gained overseas or in Australia, or through study in Australia as an international student.

Training.gov.au is the official National Register on VET in Australia and is the authoritative source of information on training packages, qualifications, accredited courses, units of competency, skill sets and RTOs.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

The USI website provides support and resources for students and training organisations to assist with the creation, collection and verification of USIs.

Group Training Organisations

Group Training Organisations recruit apprentices and trainees and match them with host employers. They provide ongoing support to apprentices, trainees and host employers.

National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU)

NTEU is the Australian union for workers in academia and related industries.

Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC)

QTAC processes applications for selected courses for TAFE Queensland, South bank Institute of Technology and some private providers of post secondary courses.

SkillsOneTV

South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC)
