Practice Guides

ASQA has developed Practice Guides to support providers’ understanding of our regulatory expectations against the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), which came into effect on 1 July 2025.

The Practice Guides are not prescriptive and include:

  • examples of actions providers might wish to consider and other relevant factors for demonstrating compliance with the 2025 Standards
  • examples of known risks to quality outcomes
  • self-assurance questions for providers to consider when measuring their performance against the 2025 Standards
  • emphasised defined terms that have a specific meaning under the legislation.

Practice Guides must be read alongside the relevant legislation to ensure regulatory obligations are fully met, and providers should also consider the policy intention of the 2025 Standards. More information about the revised Standards legislation and policy intent is available on the DEWR website.
